Sub-Atlantic period

The Sub-Atlantic period is a part of the current geological epoch known as Holocene; the Sub-Atlantic period has an assigned beginning time at about 1000 to 500 BC, depending on the research source and method of dating. The Sub-Atlantic continues to the present.

Divisions of the Holocene

The Holocene epoch began about 11,700 years ago (~9700 BC) and continues up to the present. The major divisions of the Holocene are as follows:
