Since 9/11 there has been a growing demand for gasoline in America. The rush by BP and other companies to fill that demand has caused an increase in production as well as an increase in the number of accidents and safety violations. Part One of Seconds from Disaster gives an overview of events prior to the explosion and instances where disaster may have been prevented.
