The rivers of Malaysia are characterised by an abundance of surface flow due to plentiful rainfall; these rivers also have significant biological resources within the waters themselves as well as in the terrestrial ecosystems of the riparian zones. This article presents the major rivers of Malaysia subdivided by the states within Malaysia. Sabah and Sarawak are located on the island of Borneo, and the other states are within Peninsular Malaysia.
