Environmental Monitoring and Assessment: The Journal

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment.jpg.jpeg

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment is a peer-reviewed, international journal focusing on the scientific and technological (S&T) aspects of the environmental monitoring sciences. Original research and assessment papers accepted by the journal report S&T developments as well as data and information generated?at local, regional and global scales of spatial and temporal resolution?by the varied modalities of environmental monitoring and observations.

Importantly, the journal documents the:

  • underlying rationales of assessments based on scientifically-defensible monitoring;
  • the appropriate use of scientific principles in the design of monitoring systems; and
  • the use of monitoring data in assessing the consequences of natural and human resource decisionmaking and management actions.

A substantial number of accepted papers address natural and anthropogenic contamination and pollution risks to human health and to the condition of the environment. With the exponential growth of data on the environment, the journal offers a window on the value of Geographic Information System-based technologies as well as the relative and complementary power of ground-based and remote sensing studies. The journal is published by Springer Netherlands.
