Biography: Franziska Kroll has studied Geoecology at the University of Tübingen, Germany and Geography at the University of Liège, Belgium. She wrote her diploma thesis at the UFZ Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig, Germany and received her Diplom in Geoecology / Ecosystem Management from the University of Tübingen in 2007. She is currently a Ph.D. student at the Ecology Centre, University of Kiel, Germany and works as a research assistant in the European integrated research project PLUREL, which deals with peri-urban land use relationships. Her research interests include ecosystem services, urban resilience, rural-urban relationships and demographic change.
