Cynthia Barakatt, formerly a member of the Encyclopedia of Earth's Editorial Board, is Associate Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future at Boston University. From 2008 through 2010, she served as the Director of Content Development for the Encyclopedia of Earth before joining the Pardee Center in 2011. She has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of communications and the environment, having worked as a communications specialist for two state environmental agencies and a large international environmental consulting firm, and as an administrator for a university-based environmental research and education center. Cynthia previously served as the Director of Training and Fellowships for the Stanford-based Aldo Leopold Leadership Program.
