Charles A. Jones is a Ph.D. candidate in public policy at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. His dissertation is on the renewable energy industry in Massachusetts as a complex system. His research incorporates science policy, system dynamics, and organizational behavior. Most recently, he assisted David Levy and David Terkla on a comprehensive survey of the renewable energy business sector in Massachusetts. Past assistantships have included analysis of census and geographical information system data, and a study of energy use at the UMass Boston campus. In addition to the public policy curriculum at UMass Boston, Jones has completed the system dynamics courses at MIT Sloan School of Management and organizational theory courses at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. Prior to graduate school, Jones served as a nuclear-trained submarine officer in the U.S. Navy, and taught physics in the Lynn, Massachusetts, public schools.
