University of Georgia oceanographer, Dr. Samantha Joye, conducted her third, month-long research cruise in the Gulf of Mexico in late November and early December. She continued her pioneering research into the long term impact of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil blowout. On this trip, she discovers a vast amount of oil on the bottom and marine life that definitely show effects of the oil's pollution.
