This
collection contains the proceedings of the
DAFX 2001 Conference. In order to browse,
view, and print the papers, you will need:
-
A WWW-browser software such as Netscape
Navigator/Communicator or MS Internet
Explorer
-
Adobe Acrobat Reader software (preferably
version 4 or above), available free from
Adobe website:
http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html
Demonstration
files
Several
papers contain links to related demonstration
files, usually audio or video files. Files
that are directly related to the text in
the paper, are linked from the specific
part of the text. Some files are linked
from headings in the paper. In this case,
there is usually a note in the paper indicating
the existence of extra files.
Known
Problems related to CD
-
Not all versions of the Acrobat Reader
software support the search functionality.
You may want to check
http://www.adobe.com/ for another
version of the Reader.
-
The search page is not always able to
open the index file for the proceedings.
You can add the index file by clicking
the "Indexes..." button in the Adobe Acrobat
Search dialog box and by adding the file
"proc_idx.pdx" in the "navig" subdirectory
of the CD-ROM to the list of indexes.
-
The browser plug-in implementations of
the Acrobat Reader software may not be
able to open the files from the search
results dialog box.
-
On some platforms, the web browsers open
the PDF files from a temporary file generated
on the disk. This may cause the links
in the PDF files to stop working.
Workaround
You
can start browsing the proceedings by opening
the index.pdf file from the CD-ROM in the
Acrobat Reader (not in a web browser). Navigating
inside the Reader should enable successful
searching.
