This simulation models how the appearance and motion of the stars near and around the eastern horizon change over the course of an hour (rising). The specific latitude modeled can be changed.
The default latitude is 35.5 degrees. Describe the motion of the stars as they rise. Change the latitude to 0.0 degrees (the Equator). Describe the motion of the stars. Change the latitude to -35.5 degrees. Describe the motion of the stars. Change the latitude to +/-90.0 degrees (the North and South Poles). Describe the motion of the stars now.
