WordStar

WordStar is a word processor, originally written for the CP/M operating system but later ported to DOS, that enjoyed a massive market share during the mid-1980s. Although out of production for over a decade, WordStar has left an odd legacy: a large number of text editor programs running under Linux, other UNIX variants, and DOS can emulate WordStar keystrokes. There was also an unsuccessful Windows version of WordStar but this was more a desktop publishing program than a word processor. There is still WordStar support available from www.wordstar.org (http://www.wordstar.org) and other similar sites. A full (as far as is known) history of WordStar is available at www.wordstar.org
