Waterford (village), Wisconsin

Waterford is a village located in Racine County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 4,048.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.6 km² (2.6 mi²). 6.4 km² (2.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.91% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 4,048 people, 1,561 households, and 1,139 families residing in the village. The population density is 635.3/km² (1,645.1/mi²). There are 1,628 housing units at an average density of 255.5 persons/km² (661.6 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.15% White, 0.27% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.42% from other races, and 0.74% from two or more races. 1.88% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,561 households out of which 36.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.8% are married couples living together, 9.0% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 27.0% are non-families. 21.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.59 and the average family size is 3.03.

In the village the population is spread out with 28.4% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 32.7% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.1% who are 65 years of age or older.
