Wahlau, or better known as Wahlau-eh is a common
slang word used initially by
Singaporeans around the early 90s. It is an expression akin to "Wow!" or "Oh my!", often used when expressing surprise or admiration. It is said to be a derivative of the phrase "wah-lau-peh" which literally means "my father!"
This word is understood by many Malaysians and Singaporeans.
