Vittoria Revetra, during
World War II, was a
Lieutenant-Colonel and the commander of the
Regia Aeronautica's
fighters in
Libya. On
December 9,
1940, while
patrolling[?] in a
CR-42[?], he discovered the tracks of
British vehicles which had driven through a gap in the Italian lines south of
Sidi Barrani, as part of
Operation Compass.
