Visual cortex

The visual cortex is the part of the cerebral cortex that is responsible for processing visual stimuli. It is located at the back of the brain. It is highly specialized for processing information about static and moving objects. It is able to represent a complex picture (e.g. of a dog) by activating just a couple of neurons. In other words, it is excellent in pattern recognition.
