University of Sussex

The University of Sussex is one of two universities in Brighton & Hove, a city on the south coast of England, the other being the University of Brighton.

The university offers a very wide scope of degree programmes. It is particularly noted for its work in molecular sciences (faculty include Sir Harry Kroto) and also in computing (particularly Artificial Intelligence and HCI).

The university is based on a schools system, consisting of:

Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors

The present Chancellor of the University of Sussex is Lord Attenborough), the actor, who was elected as the university's fourth Chancellor on March 20, 1998. The previous Chancellor was the Duke of Richmond and Gordon[?], who had held the post since 1985.

The university has had six Vice-Chancellors:
