Founded in 1961 in a historic mansion in downtown Aiken, USCA moved to its present site in 1972 and occupies 453 acres. USCA is located in Aiken, SC, in the western region of the state. The campus is 20 miles from Augusta, GA, and 55 miles from Columbia, SC.
U.S. News & World Report ranked USCA a top public comprehensive college in the South in the 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, and 1999 College Guides.
Approximately 3,200 undergraduate students attend USCA.
NCAA Division II; Peach Belt Athletic Conference. The University fields men's teams in baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, and tennis and women's teams in basketball, cross country, softball, volleyball, soccer, and tennis. Cheerleading and a dance team are also part of athletics.
