The
Justified Ancients of Mu Mu were a seminal influence in the development of
sampling music in the
United Kingdom. The band comprised of
Jimmy Cauty[?] and
Bill Drummond who subsequently transformed the band into the cynical chart-topping outfit
The KLF. A run-in with mega-band
Abba over some innovative use of material from (particularly) Abba's single "Dancing Queen" led to a legal showdown and the destruction of the album "1987"; original copies of this album are much in demand in sampling circles and change hands for large amounts of money.
