Tar Valon

Tar Valon is the name of a city in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time fantasy fiction world.

In the story, Tar Valon was created by Ogier. To quote the author directly, "The wheel of time turns around Tar Valon, and Tar Valon turns around the Tower." Many Kings and Queens bow before the power that Tar Valon holds.

Tar Valon is the home to the Aes Sedai. Young girls who have the gift of Channeling[?] the One Power are sent there to become apprentices.
