Syllable is a
free software operating system for
Intel x86 Pentium and compatible processors. Its purpose is to create an easy-to-use desktop operating-system for the home and business user. It was forked from the
AtheOS operating system in July
2002.
It has a native web browser called Abrowse.
Features include:
- 64 bit native AtheOS journaled file-system
- C++ orientated API
- Graphical desktop environment on a native gui
- Mostly POSIX compliant
- SMP (multiple processor) support
