Stanley Elkin

Stanley Elkin (1930-1995) was the author of satirical novels which gently poked fun at American consumerism, popular culture and male-female relationships. "George Mills" won the 1982 National Book Award. Elkin, an English professor at Washington University in St. Louis, battled multiple sclerosis for most of his adult life.
