Springbok (

It inhabits the dry inland areas of Southern
Africa.
It is the national animal of
South Africa.
It can run with a speed of 80
kilometres per

miles per hour).
A name adopted by a number of
South African sports teams to describe themselves, most famously by the national
rugby team.
However, some sporting associations, notably
cricket, believe that the name is too closely associated with the
apartheid past, and have chosen to call themselves the
Proteas[?].
