Salsa is the
Spanish word for
sauce. In
English-speaking countries it refers to a variety of sauces usually made with
tomatoes,
jalapeno[?] peppers,
onion,
garlic and
cilantro; the sauce is used as a condiment in
Mexican cuisine. Other salsas exist; for instance, some of them are made with
mint,
pineapple, or
cantaloupe.
Salsa is a style of Cuban dance and music.
