Royal Academy of Music

The Royal Academy of Music was founded by Lord Burghersh in 1822 in London, England. In 1830, a Royal Charter was given by King George IV.

Past students include Sir Arthur Sullivan, Sir Henry Wood, Hugh Marchant[?], Devika Rani, David Martin[?], Harrison Birtwistle, Sir John Barbirolli, Simon Rattle.

In 1999 the Academy became a full member of the largest British university: the University of London.
