The
H.M.T. Rohna was the first
transport ship[?] carrying
U.S. Troops to be sunk during
World War II. Over 1,138 men were lost, with 1,015 of them American, constituting the largest loss of U.S. troops at sea to date. The blow was so devistating that it was
classified for 50 years. Very little was disclosed at the time such as the name of the ship, where it was sunk, etc.
