Religious heritage

Religious heritage is the faith in which a person was predominately raised or the faith a person's parents or previous generations have traditionally held.

For example, an agnostic with no religious affiliations whose family has predominately remained Catholic in past generations would have a religious heritage of Catholicism. As another example, say a person is of Jewish ethnicity but is not of the faith Judaism. This person's religious heritage would be Jewish.

It should be noted that religious heritage has a historical connotation to which it is only applicable. If a person is of a particular faith and then changes their beliefs, their religious heritage is not that which they abandoned.
