The rambot is a bot used primarily to add and maintain U.S. county and city articles. The bot is mostly a front-end that is programmed to add premade articles, however, it is also custom programmed to update existing information with some intelligence. It is run by Ram-Man. The name rambot was coined by Ortolan88.

The bot runs on a dynamic IP in the 151.197.*.* or 141.151.*.* IP Address range. Bot's Latest IP Address: (not available) (Due to dynamic IP Address changes this may be incorrect at times even during a single session). If the bot needs to be blocked, blocking the IP or the IP range should kill the bot within seconds or at most a few minutes. This should allow the block to be released without any hassle. I am considering having an online control for the bot.

Tasks

The rambot is currently spell checking all the articles in Wikipedia (as of whatever date the Special:AllPages page was updated). The list of spelling words comes from the list of common spelling mistakes, which should be updated to add more words. In addition to this, as all the articles are scanned the county (and any missed city articles) that are worded incorrectly will be automatically fixed.

Outstanding Problems

Requested Cities

The following Wikipedia user requested cities are among the over 1,000 cities that are probably missing due to data problems which have delayed their addition to Wikipedia. Some places are listed with the census bureau as being both a "city" and a "town", but they have different data associated with them. I don't know enough about these places to figure it out, so if anyone can explain it, that would be most helpful. One example is Southampton, New York which is three places with the same name and but one bit of data. The census bureau lists it as both a town and a village. One seems to be contained in the other.
