Plan 9 from Outer Space

Originally called Grave Robbers from Outer Space, this movie was renamed because of its "sacrilegeous" title, which did little to save it from being regarded by many as the worst movie of all time, and earning it and its director Ed Wood a Golden Turkey Award.

The plot, so to speak, involves aliens who come to Earth to stop humans who have developed the ultimate weapon -- one that can explode the "particles" of sunlight -- and the aliens try to conquer Earth by resurrecting corpses from a cemetery. Actors screw up their lines, night turns to day and back in a single scene, and the movie's top billing goes to a dead guy (Bela Lugosi). The special effects were dismal at best.

Its very amateurishness and absurdity have won the movie generations of fans, who are fond of quoting such classic dialog as: "Inspector Clay is dead. Murdered. And somebody's responsible!"
