Paulina Rubio is a
Latin rock[?] singer and actress, daughter of
Susana Dosamantes[?], a Mexican actresss. Rubio began performing as a member of the children's group
Timbiriche[?]; she began acting in
1988 with
Pasión y Poder[?], which was followed by
Vaselina and
Baila Conmigo[?], a popular TV show. In
1992, Rubio released her debut solo album,
La Chica Dorada[?] and she became one of the biggest selling recording artists in
Mexico. She continued this trend with
Paulina[?], which included her first foray into
English language-rock. Her next, announced, album (
Border Girl[?]) is to be all-English.
