Nebraska is a
heartland rock[?] album by
Bruce Springsteen, released on
September 20,
1982 (see
1982 in music). The album was a critical success in spite of a lukewarm public reception. Springsteen had recorded the album in a studio with a full band and then decided not to release it, instead submitting his demo tape of the same songs. The album ended up being one of the most well-reviewed and -remembered records in his catalogue.
Nebraska peaked at #3 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart, and #174 on the Billboard 200 chart.
