Mitzvah

Mitzvah is Hebrew for "commandment." The word is used in Judaism to refer to any admirable deed, including following the precepts of halakha. The Thirteen Principles of Jewish Faith[?], as formulated by Maimonides, includes the belief that people will be rewarded for performing any mitzvah.
