Jessica Lange (born
April 20,
1949 in Cloquet,
Minnesota) is an
Academy Award winning actress. Folowing high school, she went to
Paris to study drama, then returned to
New York, where she became a
fashion model. In
1976,
Dino De Laurentiis[?] cast her in his remake of
King Kong, which received unfavorable press and caused her to disappear from the screen until she obtained a small part in
All That Jazz. She became a star opposite
Jack Nicholson in
1981's
The Postman Always Rings Twice[?], and garnered an Oscar nomination for
Frances[?] in
1982. She won the
Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress the following year for
Tootsie, and won the
Academy Award for Best Actress in
1994 for
Blue Sky[?].
