Ishi (? -
1916) was claimed to be the last California Yahi Indian. He was discovered in
1911 in the foothills near Mt. Lassen. His story was popularized in a book by
Theodora Kroeber[?], wife of
A.L. Kroeber, who worked with Ishi.
