Irredentism

Irredentism is claiming a right to territories belonging to another state on the grounds of prior historical possession, actual or alleged.

Irredentist movements include those of Gabriele D'Annunzio taking over Fiume[?] after World War I and German claims in the Nazi era to Poland and Sudetenland.

In the Middle East, there are claims to the nation of Jordan by Rehavam Zeevi's Moledet party in Israel and claims to the West Bank, Gaza, Jerusalem and (sometimes) Israel by advocates of a Palestinian homeland.
