Hixton is a town located in Jackson County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 611.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 90.4 km² (34.9 mi²). 90.4 km² (34.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.0 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.06% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 611 people, 214 households, and 166 families residing in the town. The population density is 6.8/km² (17.5/mi²). There are 251 housing units at an average density of 2.8 persons/km² (7.2 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 94.76% White, 0.00% African American, 1.96% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.45% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races. 2.95% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
