Hisaichi Terauchi

Count Hisaichi Terauchi (1879 - 1945) was the field marshal in command of Japan's Southern Expeditionary Army Group during the World War II era. His headquarters were in Saigon.

He was the son of Prime Minister Misatake Terauchi[?] and himself served as War Minister before taking direct command.

Upon hearing of the loss of Burma by Japan, he suffered a stroke on May 10, 1945. He subsequently surrendered to Lord Mountbatten and died in a prisoner-of-war[?] camp.
