Hackney College

Hackney College is a higher-learning institution in the Hackney borough of London, England.

The council for London's Islington borough sent its caretaker for a three-day course in June 2002, at the college, to learn how to use their mops[?], as well as clean walls, windows and staircases, picking up syringes, and removing graffiti. Eighty caretakers took the class, paid for by council, to learn tips like proper execution of a figure-of-eight action with their exact model of mops. Participating caretaker Tony Lee commented to Ananova[?], "People think that mopping is quite a straightforward thing, but that's not always the case, especially when there's a large floor space to clean. I had my doubts about the course, but it was very interesting. This country is becoming more like the USA and people are likely to sue if they slip on wet floors." A further 90 caretakers were set to take the course in April of 2003.
