Gondwana is a name for a
continent that broke up in the late
Mesozoic. Gondwana included the modern southern
hemisphere continents of
Antarctica,
Australia,
Africa and
South America, as well as the large island of
Madagascar, and (probably) the
Indian subcontinent.
