FRANK THOMAS "F.T." AQUILINO

"MADE THE ORDINARY, EXTRAORDINARY"

Written by: Tara Chiari (Aquilino)- Sister

Frank Thomas[?] (F.T.), a 26 year old vice president with Cantor Fitzgerald's TradeSpark[?] Division and the firm's youngest partner, was not supposed to be on the 105th floor on September 11.  He was supposed to be driving to Hartford, CT[?] for a business meeting.  But after living a truly magnanimous life, it was confirmed that F.T.'s luck had run out.  A business partner had been in contact with F.T. at his desk nearly minutes before the first plane hit the first tower.  For a young man who had found his way out of every sticky situation in the past, it just didn't seem possible that F.T. couldn't find his way out of this one.

As someone who approached life fearlessly, his family says F.T. would only leave this world with a big bang. In an event that doesn't make sense, it does make sense that F.T.'s last moment would be part of an historic event.

Although taken from this world at too young an age, the Staten Island resident had accomplished more in his 26 years than most can hope to achieve in a lifetime -- personally and professionally.  It seemed there was nothing F.T. could not accomplish, whether making a million dollar deal, planning a fun night out with friends, or developing his online gambling website, UBetWhat.com. He had the personality and charm that made others follow him instinctively.   Never afraid to try anything, F.T. had a reputation for making the ordinary, extraordinary.

The first entry in F.T.'s journal perhaps best captures the essence of who he strived to become:  "These are ideas, inventions, and thoughts that I have and live every day.  My goal is to become the most successful person, first and always with my family and secondly financially."  It's the family's blessing that in his short life, F.T. saw his dreams come true.

A scholarship fund has been established at F.T.'s Alma Mater, York College. Donations may be made to: The F.T. Aquilino Memorial Scholarship Guy Calcerano Dean of Development and Alumni Relations York College of Pennsylvania York, Pennsylvania 17405-7199 (717) 815-1410 gcalcera@ycp.edu
