Francois Rude

Francois Rude (1784 - 1855) was a French sculptor whose most notable works include Napoleon Awakening to Immortality (Musee d'Orsay, Paris); Hebe (Musee des Beaux Arts, Dijon); La Marseillaise, AKA Departure of the Volunteers of 1792, on the Arc de Triomphe, Paris; and Neapolitan Fisherboy (The Louvre, Paris).
