Four Books

The Four books are four classical Chinese writings selected by Zhu Xi in the Song dynasty to serve as an introduction to Chinese philosophy. The four books are:

• the Great Learning
• the Analects of Confucius[?]
• the Golden Mean[?]
• the works of Mencius
