First Geneva Convention

The first Geneva Convention covered the treatment of wounded and sick members of armed forces in the field. It was adopted at the diplomatic conference held at Geneva from April 21 to August 12, 1949, for the purpose of revising the Geneva Convention for the Relief of the Wounded and Sick in Armies in the Field of July 27, 1929.
