The Fédération Internationale de Basketball was founded on June 18,1932 in Geneva, Switzerland by 8 nations (Argentina, Czechoslovakia Greece, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Romania and Switzerland). Over 200 nations are now members.
The Federation is now based in Munich, Germany.
