Fail

To Fail is to not succeed at a given task. In terms of a network, this task is to be operable, and not succeeding to do so results in failure.

To fail an exam is the inability for a candidate to achieve a certain pass[?] grade, and is often labelled 'F', or in some countries 'E'.

In many situations, failure is looked down upon. If one fails to achieve what is expected of them, they may have to suffer some penalty (such as redundancy or university expulsion).
