Drusus

Drusus.JPG
Drusus (38 - 9 B.C) was the elder son of Livia, wife of Augustus Caesar. He married Antonia Minor, the daughter of Mark Antony, and one of their children was the emperor Claudius.

Drusus was in line to be Augustus's heir as emperor, but his republican leanings put him in conflict with the rest of the imperial family, and when he was wounded in battle -- he was the foremost soldier of Rome and usually referred to as "the noble Drusus" -- he was allowed to die of it, clearing the way for his younger brother Tiberius to succeed Augustus.
