Dendermonde is a
municipality located in the
Belgian province of
East Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Dendermonde proper and the towns of
Appels[?],
Baasrode[?],
Grembergen[?],
Mespelare[?],
Oudegem[?],
Schoonaarde[?] and
Sint-Gillis-bij-Dendermonde[?]. On January 1st, 2000 Dendermonde had a total population of 43,137 (21,110 males and 22,027 females). The total area is 56.14
km² which gives a
population density of 768.38 inhabitants per km².
