Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party

Redirected from Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party

The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party or (DFL) was created in 1944 when the Minnesota Democratic Party and Farmer-Labor Party merge to create the DFL. The party is affilated with the national Democratic Party.

In 1954 Orville Lothrop Freeman was elected state's first DFL governor. Minneapolis Mayor Hubert H. Humphrey is perhaps the most famous member of the party, who also served as United States Senator and United States Vice President. Also Walter Mondale was an important figure in the party.
