In
project management, a
critical path is the shortest sequence of
terminal elements (sometimes also called
work packages[?]) through the
project network[?], typically taking into consideration only logical
dependencies among terminal elements. The methodology of critical paths was invented by the
DuPont corporation.
A related concept is critical chain, which adds resource dependencies.
