Country Club is an unincorporated suburban community located in northwest Miami-Dade County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the region had a total population of 36,310.

Geography

Country Club is located at 25°56'21" North, 80°18'40" West (25.939110, -80.311162)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the region has an approximate area of 11.7 km² (4.5 mi²). 11.2 km² (4.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.43% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 36,310 people, 12,917 households, and 9,338 families residing in the town. The population density is 3,252.8/km² (8,420.5/mi²). There are 13,782 housing units at an average density of 1,234.6/km² (3,196.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 63.54% White, 22.01% African American, 0.23% Native American, 2.21% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 7.25% from other races, and 4.70% from two or more races. 60.32% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 12,917 households out of which 41.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.3% are married couples living together, 18.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% are non-families. 19.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.80 and the average family size is 3.23.

In the region the population is spread out with 27.2% under the age of 18, 10.8% from 18 to 24, 38.4% from 25 to 44, 17.5% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 30 years. For every 100 females there are 90.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.1 males.

The median income for a household in the region is $39,272, and the median income for a family is $41,353. Males have a median income of $31,018 versus $24,901 for females. The per capita income for the town is $17,999. 13.1% of the population and 10.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 15.7% are under the age of 18 and 15.6% are 65 or older.
