Counting Crows

The Counting Crows are a San Francisco based rock band that became very popular in 1994, following the release of their debut album August and Everything After, which featured the song "Mr. Jones." Their second album, Recovering the Satellites, followed in 1996. A double live album, Across a Wire--Live in New York, was released in 1998. Their third studio disc, This Desert Life, was released in 1999. Their latest disc, Hard Candy, was released in July 2002. The Counting Crows recently covered an old Joni Mitchell song, "Big Yellow Taxi," for the movie Two Weeks Notice[?] starring Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock.

Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz's vocal style has been compared to Van Morrison. He has recently collaborated with Ryan Adams on his album Gold.
